Today’s Entry: Good morning Brian, We listen to you every day and I very much enjoyed what you said Friday when talking about the State Attorney dropping the ball in reference President Trump. Plus, candidate Alexcia Cox going the same way. I was a local law enforcement officer for 32 years and have seen the State Attorney’s office go through multiple changes and am not looking forward for it to kept going in its present path. I have heard a rumor, and it is a rumor that I have not been able to confirm, but I have heard that there is possibly Soros funding to Ms. Cox. I believe that you might be more able to track this down to show either way and would be interested to confirm yes or no on that subject because Palm Beach Co. absolutely does not need to go down that path. I am also interested to know more about Mr. Stern and his beliefs.

Bottom Line: Today’s note picks up essentially where I left off with my Top 3 Takeaways last week in depicting the extremely concerning decisions by Dave Aronberg/his office. Here’s a quick refresh of what I said: First, Aronberg washes his hands of the (Ryan) Routh case punting to the feds and having the state pick up the investigation he was unwilling to undertake. Then, not only does his office not attempt to hold someone threatening the life of Donald Trump and his running mate accountable to the fullest extent of the law, as a means of drawing a line in the sand following the second assassination attempt of Donald Trump in as many months, but his office takes the extraordinary step of downgrading the second degree felony offense to a lesser charge to allow him access to the diversion program? What is the message that’s being sent here? And specific to today’s note I’d mentioned this: Notably, Alexcia Cox, Dave Aronberg’s Deputy Chief Assistant State Attorney, who’s running to replace him supports this and has advocated publicly this week for this telling the Sun Sentinel: (the deal) Ensures that Mr. Wiseman (the Jupiter man arrested for encouraging people to murder Trump and Vance online) will be monitored while addressing the issues that led to his arrest. What does that tell you? And specific to Alexcia Cox’s competition for PBC State Attorney on the office’s handling of these matters: Sam Stern had this to say: Just two days after the second attempted assassination of President Trump, the Palm Beach State Attorney’s Office has given a pass to a man who threatened to kill President Trump. So, now to address today’s question. Is Alexcia Cox a Soros-backed candidate?

Alexcia Cox has raised a total of $276,009 for the general election according to the most recent campaign finance report from the Florida Division of Elections. In a comprehensive review of the database, and Cox’s donors, I’ve not found any ties to a Soros-backed PAC. A review of donors to Cox reveals a few names many are familiar with South Florida Congresswoman Shelia Cherfilous-McCormick, former West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio, who donated $500 to her campaign with Palm Beach County’s current Property Appraiser Dorothy Jacks having made two separate donations to the Cox campaign totaling $1,000. In terms of PAC (Political Action Committee) money, which is how Soros has previously gone about supporting state attorney candidates, a la Andrew Warren in Hillsborough and Monique Worrell in Orange County (both removed by Governor DeSantis for failing to enforce state law). Here are the PACs that have helped finance the Cox campaign for Palm Beach County State Attorney:

  • AFFECTIONATELY BUILDING COMMUNITIES
  • DEFEND DEMOCRACY
  • GRAYROBINSON PA
  • GUNSTER PAC
  • NEW LEADERSHIP FOR FLORIDA
  • RESIDENTS FIRST LEADERSHIP
  • RUTH'S LIST FLORIDA

Those are all PACs that are either left leaning, or are exclusively supportive of Democrats, though none have direct ties to the Soros family. And I say Soros family because George is no longer the one who is making the decisions on how funds will be spent to attempt to influence election outcomes. His son Alex has taken the lead in the family's “philanthropy”. They have weighed in heavily with many Democrat-backed PACs for this cycle. The Democracy PAC has been the biggest recipient with over $60 million received from the Soros family. As previously noted, that PAC hasn’t contributed to Cox’s campaign. That’s not to say that there may not be money that’s potentially trickled down to PACs that have backed Cox, but if it has it hasn’t been especially significant, and it isn’t characteristic of how Soros has funded DA and SA candidates across the country and in Florida previously. For that reason, Cox isn’t what one would call a “Soros-backed” candidate. At least as of the most recent disclosure reports anyway. As for learning more about Sam Stern, he’s joining us today to discuss.
