Voting Records Are Falling in Florida & Illegal Immigrants Strike Again – Top 3 Takeaways – October 23rd, 2024
- Voting records fell in Florida on Monday and by all appearances they continued to fall on Tuesday as early voters packed the polls yet again for a second day. Despite 18 of Florida’s 67 counties not yet offering early in person voting, a record 377,035 Floridians showed up to cast their votes on the first day of early voting breaking the record set in 2020 by over 20,000 voters. However, in reality, while early voting records are currently falling in Florida, there’s only one political party that’s setting early voting records. Somewhat remarkably, Republicans nearly outvoted Democrats by two to one on day one with over 202k Republicans showing up to vote compared to just under 109k Democrats who did the same. The result is that Democrats went from holding a 72,000+ voter advantage, via vote by mail ballots prior to early voting, to a deficit of 15,532 voters after just one day of early voting. What’s clear is that Florida’s Republicans are motivated to vote, and that most now prefer to early vote – what had been a historical advantage for Democrats within the state. And that was true clear across the state. Democrats only outvoted Republicans in 5 of the 49 counties to start early voting. Most notably, many of Florida’s largest “blue” counties saw Republicans pace the early vote out of the gate. This includes Republicans outvoting Democrats in Duval, Hillsborough, Miami Dade and Palm Beach out of the gate. That’s especially notable given that those counties voted for the entire Republican cabinet in the 2022 midterm elections in part due to lower Democrat voter turnout. Strong GOP turnout in many of these counties could have the potential to put additional congressional races held by Democrats, a la Lois Frankel and Jared Moskowitz in play, in addition to solidifying Rick Scott’s senate race (as Scott has consistently polled behind Donald Trump – sometimes by several points). There also could be major implications for Amendments 3 and 4 (though support on those doesn’t cut completely down party lines). It’s early, even for early voting. But adopting a frequently cited sports saying... You can’t win a championship in the first month of a season, but you can lose one. Well, you can’t win an election during early voting, but you can lose one. That’s what Republicans across the country saw four years ago when they took an average 14-point turnout deficit into Election Day as most waited to vote until Election Day. Across the country Republican turnout is now pacing 4% better in comparison to Democrats and in Florida it’s happening at a record pace.
- Illegal Immigrants strike in Palm Beach County again. The Biden-Harris open border has created a series of victims in our community throughout the year. In the words of Sheriff Rick Bradshaw earlier this year... Don’t think for a minute that what happens at the Mexican Border doesn’t affect us here. That’s what he had to say in March when a woman was horrifically raped alongside John Prince Park by three illegal immigrants who’d only recently come across the open border. The federal government is victimizing the people who live in this country by letting these people in here. That’s what Sheriff Bradshaw had to say in May when we learned the details of yet another horrific crime forever impacting the life of an innocent victim at the hands of an illegal immigrant in our community. As the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office revealed, a 20-year-old illegal immigrant from Guatemala, who came across the southern border in January, was processed by Border Patrol and sent to South Florida under the Biden Administration's direction. The illegal immigrant proceeded to force an 11-year-old girl into his van in front of her house and raped her.
- The border’s not closed, illegals are still coming in. This is the fourth time we’ve had something here in Palm Beach County involving crimes committed by illegals. On Monday that was the latest commentary by Sheriff Bradshaw as we learned that authorities had detained a 33-year-old Colombian national and a 27-year-old Venezuelan national in conjunction with abducting and sex trafficking a 15-year-old girl from New York, in Rivera Beach. Here’s something else Bradshaw had to say about this case in speaking of the Venezuelan trafficker... How can he be out on bond for attempted murder out of New York, he gets arrested in Miami for drug trafficking, and he’s out walking around? That’s unconscionable. Is anyone interested in arguing that point? But here we are with yet another victim in our community. When will it be enough for the madness to stop? How many girls and how many women have to be raped by illegal immigrants before Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will close the open border? How women have to be murdered across the country before either of them will pretend they care? We are only 13 days away from Election Day and one of the presidential candidates is the person who was tasked with oversight of the southern border under this administration. The other is the man who closed the southern border prior to this administration. Here’s what we know in the case of all the girls and women trafficked and raped in Palm Beach County by illegal immigrants this year. They were only raped because Joe Biden is president and Kamala Harris is vice president of the United States. None of them would have been victims of those heinous crimes by those illegal immigrants if Donald Trump was president of the United States. There are two sides to stories and one side to facts. Those are the facts.
