- It was another busy day of voting on Wednesday with turnout records continuing across the state and locally. Turnout now exceeds 25% in Palm Beach County, 29% in Martin and 26% in Indian River County. Prior to the accounting for Wednesday’s voting totals, 2,251,158 Floridians, or 16% of the state’s eligible voters had voted, with Republicans having outvoted Democrats by 109,244 voters.
- Early voting continues today. In Palm Beach County there are 26 early voting locations that will be open from 7 am to 7 pm daily through Sunday, November 3rd. For residents of Martin County, there are six early voting locations operating from 8 am to 5 pm daily through Saturday, November 2nd and in Indian River County early voting will be held at three locations from 8 am until 4 pm through Saturday, November 2nd. As a reminder you’re able to vote in any early voting location within the county that you’re registered to vote in. You need to bring a government issued photo ID when you go to the polls.
- Construction has begun construction for the new Jupiter Fire Rescue Department Station at Piatt Place off US 1. The station is scheduled to go online in October of 2026 as the town of Jupiter decided to decouple from Palm Beach County Fire Rescue in lieu of its own service.
- An Illegal gambling operation has been busted in Vero Beach by the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities shut down the Panda arcade, off US 1 and 8th Street, making multiple arrests and seizing equipment used for what was described as an ‘illegal casino-style arcade’.
- Passing morning showers will give way to mostly sunny skies with highs in the low 80’s - which is typical for this date. The National Hurricane Center is not expecting tropical cyclone activity during the next 7 days.
- Gas prices rose 4 cents per gallon on Wednesday. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $3.11 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.28 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.18 and in Indian River County the average is $3.12 per gallon.
