  • Florida’s rate of flu spread remains ‘high’ according to the CDC’s weekly data. Over the past week the rate of spread of flu and flu-like activity has declined in 65 of Florida’s 67 counties – including Florida’s entire east coast. RSV cases continue to decline across most of the state as well with cases decreasing in the Palm Beaches, Martin and Indian River County over the past week.  
  • A new study from the Insurance Research Council shows a fifth of the drivers on Florida’s roads are driving without insurance – the 7th highest rate in the country. Florida mandates proof of insurance to legally drive with minimums for personal injury protections, property damage liability and bodily injury liability.  
  • The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is warning Floridians to be aware of growing cryptocurrency scams expanding across the state. According to FDLE use of BTMs, or bitcoin ATMS, are on the rise. BTEs are commonly located inside convenience stores and take cash deposits which are converted into cryptocurrency. Criminals can exploit these crypto ATMs by redirecting deposits to the criminal’s own account, where the digital currency is often unrecoverable.  
  • Cooler and clear today with highs in the mid 70’s – a bit cooler than usual for this date. Similar weather is expected tomorrow with wind picking up in advance of a front that’s expected to move through on Wednesday.  
  • Gas prices fell through the weekend and are lower than a week ago. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $3.06 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.20 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.02 and in Indian River County the average is $3.03 per gallon.
