  • Flu season is nearing its end as cases were ‘low’ for the second consecutive week in Florida according to the CDC’s weekly data. The rate of spread of flu and flu-like activity declined in 62 of Florida’s 67 counties – including Florida’s entire east coast. RSV cases have remained a bit more stubborn. • Florida CFO Jimmy Patronis, who is in his last week on the job, as he’s up for election in congress in a special election on Tuesday, is alerting 30,000 Floridians who’d started a process with the My Safe Florida grant program, that they need to finish the process. According to Patronis: There's over $100 million in existing My Safe Florida Home funds and about 30,000 inspected properties where the homeowner has not completed the age and income questionnaire. If you haven't done so already, it's critical to go online and provide this information as soon as possible. The My Safe Florida Portal has been reopened and will remain open until April 30th for Floridians who’ve already had an inspection and need to finish the process.
  • CoreLogic’s latest report shows West Palm Beach is one of three Florida cities at risk of real-estate price declines this year (Tampa and Winter Haven are the other two). The report shows a greater than 70% chance of declining real-estate prices this year – though CoreLogic notes that if we experience lower mortgage rates – buyers would move into the market.
