Kings Hand Lightning Third Straight Loss

The Los Angeles Kings (15-10-9) defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning (18-13-3) 2-1 on Thursday night in Tampa. It was the third straight loss for Tampa Bay, including two in a row at home.

Oliver Bjorkstrand scored a power play goal in the first period to get Tampa Bay on the board. In the second period, Adrian Kempe scored both goals for the Kings that would prove to be the difference in the game.

Andrei Vasilevskiy returned to net for Tampa Bay after missing the last seven games with an undisclosed injury and went 18-of-20 in net in the losing effort. Anton Forsberg got the win in net for the Kings making 31 saves on 32 shots faced.

The Lightning are next in action when they host the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night. Puck drop between the Lightning and Hurricanes is scheduled for 7:00 PM at Benchmark International Arena in Tampa.
