Top Three Takeaways – July 16th, 2021

  1. COVID-19's variants as the new seasonal flu, get your head around it. History has a way of repeating itself. That’s why it’s good to know it. For over a year now I’ve talked of the need to wrap our brains around the idea that COVID-19, and its variants, are the new seasonal flu. It wasn’t based on theory, it was based on scientific history. Until the era of COVID arrived, H1N1 was most common strain of the seasonal flu...for 100 years. As I’ve outlined numerous times previously, the 1918 pandemic provides guidance and a timeline for what we can expect this time. The 1918 pandemic, which didn’t end until 1921, was brought about by the H1N1 virus. For 100 years, that virus and its variants were the most common form of the seasonal flu. Now it’s COVID. A hundred years from now, all of the fear mongers, lockdown lovers and Faucists of the world will be dead. COVID-19 probably won’t, and history suggests there’s a reasonable chance it will have been the seasonal flu. Now here’s the thing and it’s a thing Governor DeSantis clearly gets by not getting hung up on daily reporting of numbers. It’s time to get over it. Yes, I said get over it. We have no idea how many people used to contract the H1N1 virus daily because we never had tests for the flu. We do know that 100 years after the pandemic it brought about, it still hospitalized hundreds of thousands of Americans and killed tens of thousands of them. Critical thinking is in short supply in government at all levels and political agendas are endless and conflate issues. There are vaccines, they’re more effective than the traditional flu vaccine, it makes sense for most people to get one. But otherwise, it’s time to get over it because otherwise you never will. 2. Door to Door vaxxing. It’s not Joe Biden’s joke. No, it’s apparently a thing. Believe it or not the SS, ahem, government officials in Georgia, North Carolina and Wisconsin have begun to go door to door in the name of the vaccines. While characterized as “non-confrontational”, how would you feel if someone came to your house to lecture you on the benefits of the getting the vaccine? More to the point. Wow. Just Wow. The era of big Gestapo, I mean government, has never been bigger or more intrusive.
  3. Time for choosing. Florida’s public-school teachers are either part of the solution or part of the problem. Now it’s the time for them to choose. Recently I’ve highlighted the fact that 78% of Florida’s public-school teachers are members of a teachers’ union whose parent is the American Federation of Teachers. The union led by Randi Weingarten. The Randi Weingarten who last week pledged to fight for the implementation of CRT into schools and pledged support for Florida’s educators who’d break the law to do it. That Randi, tweeted this on back of DeSantis’s new merch line which includes the instant classic...Don’t Fauci My Florida: Disgusting. Millions of Floridians are going to die for Ron DeSantis’ ignorance and he’s choosing to profit from it. He doesn’t care about Floridians; he cares about furthering his own cruel agenda. This explains how screwed we are in public education. The leader of 78% of public-school teachers stated that Governor DeSantis’s merchandise is going to kill a minimum of 10% of Florida’s population, or something like that. Also, because facts matter...38,282 Floridians have died of COVID-19 during the pandemic and Florida’s death rate for those who’ve contracted it, is 6% lower than the national average despite having the country’s most vulnerable population. Florida’s teachers who continue to choose to be part of a teacher's union are officially part of the problem and are led by a moron. Also, #Don’tFauciorWeingartenMyFlorida.
