  • Broward County School Board member Sarah Leonardi’s decision to lead a elementary school field trip to a Wilton Manors gay bar is being called into question. Leonardi posted pictures on Facebook of Wilton Manors Elementary school students at Rosie’s Bar and Grill. Additionally, she indicated this happens annually – though this is the first time it’s been reported.
  • A big development involving sports betting in Florida took place on Thursday. The Seminole Tribe reached sports betting agreements with five pari-mutuel's. Under the new Compact signed into law by Governor DeSantis, the Seminoles are to host all sports-betting services statewide – collecting 10% of proceeds generated from 3rd parties. As of October 15th, sports betting is legal in Florida and while legal challenges remain – this agreement marks the next step to potentially rolling out onsite and online sports betting operations. The five agreements were with The Palm Beach Kennel Club, Hialeah Park Casino, Ocala Gainesville Poker, Tampa Bay Downs and TGT Poker & Racebook.
