Top Three Takeaways – December 1st, 2021

  1. They’re not smarter than you. They may pretend to be. They may have used words like transitory as opposed to its synonym, temporary, to describe inflation toattemptto sound smarter than you...but in all of their snootiness they were wrong. You were right. All throughout this yearwe’vehad to listen to the same failed economists and officials who incorrectly predicted the impact of the Trump tax cuts, tell us that the extra money we had to throw down every time we bought something was just “transitory” and not something to worry about. Except of course in the real-world where most Americansdon’tjust magically have more money to throw at stuff for evena short periodof time. Nevertheless, the use of the term “transitory” had been used by the Federal Reserve to describe inflation starting in March but ending yesterday. After nine months of snootily telling us inflation was temporary, yesterday the Federal Reserve admitted it’s not. That’swhy you saw another mini-financial market freakout yesterday. They’re not smarter than you. They just pretend to be. But hey, given how wrong these people tend to be, maybe now thatthey’ve finally admitted inflation is as bad as it is, it’ll start to improve?
  2. A revolution starts today? Let me start by saying that people who throw terms like “revolution” around in a political context are reckless idiots. That is to say that New Hampshire Senator Jeanne Shaheen is a reckless idiot. That’s not me being mean or using conjecture. As per usual I’m speaking the truth. The definition of revolution is a forcible overthrow of a government or social order, in favor of a new system. So, unless you think the forcible overthrow of our federal government is appropriate, indeed Senator Jeanne Shaheen is a reckless idiot. Especially given the proliferation of violence we’ve seen in our society. You see, as the United States Supreme Court is set to take up the much-anticipated Mississippi abortion law case today, Senator Shaheen had this to say: I hope the Supreme Court is listening to the people of the United States because – to go back to Adam Sexton’s question – I think if you want to see a revolution go ahead, outlaw Roe v. Wade and see what the response is of the public, particularly young people. So, allow me to unpack what the reckless idiot Jeanne Shaheen has said here. First, she hopes the United States Supreme Court doesn’t rule on Constitutional Law, but instead by perceived public opinion. Second, she’s threatening the Supreme Court with thoughts of a revolution, or forceable overthrow of our government if they do rule in favor of Mississippi’s law. Maybe in Shaheen’s new post-revolution America we’ll replace the judiciary with a Roman Emperor like thumbs up or down from the mob? What the Mississippi case before the Supreme Court is mostly about is the 10th Amendment, or states' rights to set their own abortion policy. To be clear, abortion was never “legalized” as in legislation being signed into law by the federal government, therefore to the reckless idiot Jeanne Shaheen and any of her revolutionaries, it’s not possible to “outlaw” it via this court ruling either. But hey, if there were a revolution to take place in the United States, it’s hard to find more noble causes than fighting for the lives of those who’re unable to fight for themselves.
  3. Zero hospitalizations, maximum hysteria. I’m talking about omicron. Though it was just named by the WHO on Friday, the variant now known as omicron was known to have been contracted two weeks ago. So in the two weeks of omicron’s existence in South Africa how many hospitalizations due to this variant have there been? Right, I did say zero already, didn’t I? While many in news media and government alike have chosen a path of maximum hysteria over this variant here’s what the doctor who first discovered the variant had to say on Tuesday - two weeks after its discovery: The majority of what we are presenting to primary health care practitioners are extremely mild cases, so mild to moderate. And so, these patients, it means they don’t need to be hospitalized for now. As she mentioned, it’s early and maybe that could change but for now, and two weeks into this at ground zero for this variant in South Africa, extremely mild cases and zero hospitalizations. Contrast that with the response around the world. I don’t specifically know what happens with this variant from here, but I do know what’s happened with those who’ve been diagnosed with it thus far, which is not much, and I do know how medical officials and governments alike have abused power during this pandemic. I also know how this story ends. Like all other pandemics, one day COVID-19 and its variants are at worst the seasonal flu and the pandemic ends. Could that bewhat’shappening right now? But that conversation isn’t allowed, is it? How many in the medical establishment and government want to keep the influence and control over society, they’ve grasped during this pandemic alive?
