  • While Florida’s trend of new COVID-19 cases remains near the lowest levels in 21 months, near the onset of the impact of the pandemic in Florida, the trend has ticked higher for two consecutive days. We’ve averaged 1,251 daily cases over the past week. 
  • The 13-day trend of declining gas prices in Florida has ended. Gas prices are up by just under a cent today. Florida’s average gas price stands at $4.12 per gallon – which is now 12 cents below the national average. This as national prices rose by a penny.  
  • A new study shows Florida has the most polluted lakes in the country. The study which measures whether pollution is unsafe for swimming of aquatic life found extensive polluting of Florida’s lakes. The discharges of the water from these bodies of water, via Lake Okeechobee, has been linked to the record manatee deaths last year.  
  • A day after donating several million dollars to Habitat for Humanity, which benefited numerous operation in Florida, MacKenzie Scott, the ex-wife of Jeff Bezos, made the largest donation to ever to Planned Parenthood. The $275 million dollar donation includes 21 Florida-based Planned Parenthood abortion clinics.  
  • Recent Lake Worth Beach resident, and Food Network star Guy Fieri, donated $20,000 to Lake Worth High School’s Culinary Arts program during a visit to the school. The visit and donation were facilitated after gathering information from local leaders on a way to assist his passion in his new community.
