  • Florida broke the recent five day upward trend in new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. With just over 1,300 daily cases reported – Florida's trend dropped to about the level over the past week. An improvement of about 100 daily cases over the past week. However.... 
  • The trend for Florida’s gas prices hasn’t reversed. For the 2nd straight day the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas in Florida is $4.20 per gallon. That’s two cents below the national average. In South Florida prices range from an average of $4.25 per gallon to $4.49 per gallon based on location.  
  • Five felons, who were still serving time for their offenses, have been indicted for voter registration fraud. According to the indictment, the inmates were registering Democrats inside the prison system in advance of the 2020 elections.  
  • Florida’s growing property insurance crisis appears likely to claim another property insurer. Lighthouse Property Insurance Corp. had its financial stability rating removed, meaning it’ll be forced into receivership by the state. Lighthouse currently holds 13,200 policies statewide with just under a thousand in South Florida. Property insurance reform is likely to be addressed as part of the upcoming special state session called by Governor DeSantis to address redistricting.
