Ron DeSantis is Rolling - Top 3 Takeaways – April 1st, 2022
- Ron is rolling. It’s no mistake that day-by-day and issue-by-issue, Ron DeSantis becomes a bigger target of the hit artists in the national news media and Democrats generally. It’s because day-by-day and issue-by-issue, Ron DeSantis is becoming more popular with voters. What so many of the left don’t realize, or just can’t help themselves by doing, is that by their insistent effort to attempt to takeout Ron with repeated hit jobs continues to backfire. The harder they try, the harder they fail and the more popular he becomes. How much time was dedicated by national news media demonizing Florida’s “open” pandemic policy? How many people heard what we were doing because of the national news media attempted hits on DeSantis and decided to come here? Florida has led the country in net migration since the onset of the pandemic – passing the previous number one – Texas in the process. And what about the policy itself? Did Floridians pay the price of not bowing down to the Fauchists? Nope. Despite having the country’s most vulnerable population, due to demographics... Since the onset of the pandemic, when you adjust for population, Florida’s not even in the top ten of states for COVID-19 cases or deaths. Oh, and btw, which state is? The very Fauchist Rhode Island. Details, right? And of course, specific to Ron, there was the very specific effort to perpetrate Nikki Fried’s fraud. No, I’m not talking about her repeatedly fraudulent financial filings covering up that the fact that state’s Agriculture Commissioner is bought and paid for by the marijuana industry – led in this state by her apparently abusive partner. I’m talking about her fraudulent DeSantis pay-for-play vaccine narrative of a year ago. And then later in the year, after having said that DeSantis was such a supporter of vaccines - that he was hoarding them for his supporters, she then attempted to suggest he was anti-vaccine. Of course, your dishonest news media covered it without calling out the obvious contradiction in her assertions. Who benefitted from all of that? It sure wasn’t Nikki, who went from being a seemingly credible politician as the only statewide elected Democrat, and a rising star within the party who was featured during the DNC convention in 2020, to someone only Twitter takes seriously these days. And of course, most recently with...
- Florida’s Parental Rights in Education Legislation. Last week a Democrat pollster sampling only Democrats found by a 52% to 36% margin Florida’s Democrats supported the legislation – once they knew what was in it. This week's polling shows support at 61% to 26% who are against it. The full court press by radical activists and their allies in news media to lyingly call this a don’t say gay law has backfired spectacularly...as well it should. As I said Wednesday – you're a sick disgusting freak if you think we should be teaching sexual orientation to children under eight, or that age shouldn’t matter after third grade. And all of that has culminated in Governor DeSantis sporting a 59% approval rating in this week’s St. Leo University polling (a pollster which has heavily skewed in favor of Democrats in previous election cycles) and clearing all potential Democrat candidates for governor by at least 16 points. Ron is rolling and his agenda is winning. And no, Judge Mark Walker’s ridiculous ruling yesterday on last year’s voter integrity law won’t stand. It will be overturned on appeal. But there is one remaining issue that must be addressed by Ron and the state in the special session.
- Property Insurance reform. Last I’ve heard it’s looking unlikely for it to be taken up in the special. That’s a huge mistake. Florida accounts for about 8% of the property insurance policies in the country but currently about 77% of the lawsuits against property insurance companies. Without any additional detail – that's clearly an imbalance that’s not sustainable. That’s the reason property insurance companies are dropping like flies. That’s why Citizens is asking for another 11% increase as they’re increasingly becoming the state’s largest insurer as the insurer of last resort. It’s why your already unaffordable property insurance becomes increasingly less affordable. It’s inexcusable for the legislature – not to do what’s necessary here. Ron is rolling but he needs to use that momentum to roll over those blocking this in the legislature and he needs to ensure reform happens sooner than later.
