Today's recap of the biggest news from around the state that impacts you in South Florida.  

  • Florida’s now averaging over 4,000 daily COVID-19 cases for the first time in about six weeks. The daily 4,099 cases is the highest since February 23rd.  
  • Gas prices remain mostly unchanged in Florida averaging $4.18 per gallon for regular unleaded today. In South Florida there continues to be a significant difference based upon the county. The average price is $4.21 in Miami-Dade, while it's $4.22 in Broward and $4.33 in the Palm Beaches. 
  • Governor DeSantis said the state will provide record funding to support the emergency efforts by Florida, Fish & Wildlife to preserve the starving manatee population. $30 million is being allocated for related efforts which more than doubles the total previously allocated by the state in the annual budget.  
  • Florida remains near the top for business according to the annual study by Chief Executive magazine. Florida’s currently 2nd only to Texas according to the findings of 700 CEOs responsible for the annual findings. Some have questioned whether Florida’s business climate has been negatively impacted by the feud with Disney, however these findings provide clarity that Disney’s situation is unique and Florida’s business climate remains intact.
