Biden’s Bizzaro World & A Lesson Learned - Top 3 Takeaways – June 15th, 2022
- Fastest growth in the world?! Joe Biden’s either living in an altered state of reality (likely) or the man has truly lost his mind (possible). In his month of focus on the economy, (how’s that working out for him or us?) he said this... Look, here’s where we are. We have the fastest-growing economy in the world. The world. Now, in reality – you're probably thinking. Say what? And you’d be right. That’s because not only is the US not the fastest growth economy in the world, our economy isn’t growing at all! Most recently it’s been shrinking. This claim by Biden was so blatantly false it compelled even the CNN fact checkers to say this: Biden's claim is false. The US economy grew by 5.7% in 2021, but more than 50 other countries had faster growth that year, figures published by the International Monetary Fund show; many of them are small or developing countries, but some of them are large or wealthy. In addition, the US economy shrank in the first quarter of 2022, while various other countries experienced growth. You can tell that CNN attempted to do Biden a bit of a solid, by providing a view of what happened last year, in addition to what’s happening now, but clearly that didn’t even work out either. But when you look at what’s happening this year specifically, because Biden did say our economy is the fastest growing in the world. The world... Not only is the US economy shrinking – let not alone posting the most prolific growth in the world...our economy is currently the worst performing of the G7 economies. That includes European countries which are directly exposed to the effects of the war in Ukraine. If this were just a matter of dishonest politics that’d be one thing. The more problematic issue here is that he’s saying this as justification for...
- Doing nothing to address the economy. Ordinarily doing nothing would be the best policy. The problem is he’s already done several somethings – that screwed us into this position in the first place. From the anything but American Rescue Act, which spent $2 trillion to do the opposite of that – to his executive orders. Specifically, what we do need him to do, is to undo his executive orders which killed the Keystone XL Pipeline and energy harvesting on 2.46 billion acres of land which made the US reliant on foreign sources of energy once again. As Biden has stated he “trusts the Fed” to fight inflation. So that’s the plan. And the Fed will raise interest rates for a third time today. It appears they’re going higher than they’ve gone before raising rates by .75%, but yeah that’s the plan. And this is why Joe Biden’s approval ratings continue to hit new lows, but also why trust in the federal government has now reached record lows. According to the Pew Research Center, only 20% of Americans trust the government to “do what is right”. On the one hand that’s concerning. On another hand, it's earned. But while many are eagerly awaiting November’s elections to make their displeasure heard, perhaps this is the next piece of evidence that the generational opportunity I’ve been discussing is taking hold. The reason why the US economy has historically been the fastest growing and most successful in the world has been because of an absence of the heavy hand of government in our lives. The American story is the story of what’s possible when the government takes a back seat and...
- Allows the people to reach their potential. What we’re living through now is completely manufactured through the heavy hand of government intervention into our lives. Forced lockdowns, government handouts to counteract the lockdowns, debt spending with those handouts driving 41-year high inflation. This is what happens when the government takes too much control. Recently I referenced my Top Three Takeaways from January 4th, regarding the generational opportunity in front of us. I also said this that day... This is your year to begin to take back our education system, to make local government responsive & accountable, and to work to restore sanity to Congress. 2020 took us by surprise and allowed the radicals who’d been playing the long game to win. That was true of pandemic responses, the Marxist BLM movement, along with their effective efforts to defund police and elect rouge prosecutors. It was especially true when numerous states suspended their election laws and allowed post-constitutional voting to take place in the name of the virus. 2021 was a year of awakening to the harsh realities of what all of that meant. We’d learned what was happening in the classroom. We’d learned the effects of defunding police and allowing criminals to walk free. We’d realized that lockdowns and government mandates don’t do jack diddly to stop a pandemic. We also had one heck of a reminder about elections having consequences which impact every aspect of our lives. That’s why this is your year. You’re empowered to put your voice and concerns... Into action. 2022 needs to be a year of action. Right, and so as we approach midyear...that message remains especially on point. The lesson to be learned here isn’t just that President Biden continues to be disconnected with reality. Or even that record low numbers of Americans trust the federal government. It needs to be what happens when we cede control to politicians who want to rule over our lives. And it's incumbent upon us to support politicians who want to allow us to live our lives rather than rule over them.
