- Congressional sleight of hand. They retain no credibility and they’re full of poo. I know, I know, that could be a myriad of dishonest actors in today’s society. In this case it’s the usual suspects. Dishonest politicians and their equally dishonest allies in news media. The only bigger joke than the January 6th Committee (which is the equivalent of a non-stop made for TV prosecution which has never offered an opportunity for a defense or rebuttal by the accused...) is how it’s being used. Anyone who retains any intellectual honesty knows that Nancy Pelosi’s refusal to allow Republican leadership to place any committee members on the panel meant this was never going to be more than an attempted political hit job. Imagine a jury only being allowed to hear the arguments of the prosecution in any case. Would a jury ever think anyone is innocent in any case if only the prosecution’s case were presented? There’s still never been discussion of why Pelosi refused President Trump’s additional security authorization for January 6th. The committee continues to leave out key details of the President’s speech like “peacefully marching to the Capitol”. Yesterday’s dog and pony show was just that. Nothing new but sensational details of Trump turning violent and angry at not getting his way. They had a staffer who testified to Trump waiting way too long to go public that day telling rioters to stop. Again, sensational material for sure. Good TV and news fodder for sure.
- But nothing that materially mattered, just noise to try to make the bad Orangeman look worse. But here’s something else that wasn’t told yesterday. Cassidy Hutchinson, the former Meadows aide who was the star witness yesterday desired to join Trump at Mar-a-Lago as part of his post presidency team. One needs to reconcile her testimony with her desire to continue to work for him. And the fact that she recently changed attorneys and changed her stance with the committee at that time. These are just some of the basics of a legit cross examination which are absent from news reporting today. And here’s the real bombshell. The two top secret service agents in question with Cassidy’s accounts of Trump’s behavior on January 6th, are prepared to testify under oath that Cassidy’s accounts weren’t true. Two top secret service agents who now want to go under oath to attest to Cassidy Hutchinson being, as Trump might say, a stone-cold liar. Will the sham J6 committee even allow them to testify? Will they hold a primetime TV special with the two Secret Service Agents in question testifying that the sham committee’s star witness, who wasn’t retained by Donald Trump post-presidency, is guilty of perjury? It wouldn’t be consistent with the congressional sleight of hand in play yesterday. But they did pull off their main objective which wasn’t even about Trump.
- We know Democrats are desperate this election year. Yesterday’s shame “emergency” committee meeting was the most desperate effort yet. As of midday Monday the committee, which hasn’t produced any evidence of anything of consequence that wasn’t already publicly known, wasn’t scheduled to hold another public dog and pony show until July. But then it happened. Something so big they couldn’t wait. Something so big that the committee members decided to stay in D.C. instead of joining the rest of Congress on recess. No really, the real reason they did this was that big of a deal. No, as usual it didn’t have anything to do with the sham committee. Yes, there was a LOT they were hoping to hide in the news cycle. See, just after midday Monday additional hard of evidence of the current President of the United States conspiring with his son Hunter over illicit “business” dealings with China emerged. As in the illicit business dealings he said he had no knowledge of and wasn’t a part of. The evidence, a voicemail recording in December of 2018 by Joe Biden left on Hunter’s iPhone. The sitting President of the United States being shown to have been a demonstrable liar in a coverup for his son’s ill-gotten gains due to dealings Joe Biden himself brokered as Vice President is no doubt a crisis. It’s no doubt worthy of an honest news media demanding answers immediately. But alas like the joke of a J6 dog and pony show committee dedicated to attempting to permanently take out the previous president (who’d been rooting out deep state corruption) provides the perfect distraction for your dishonest news media to avoid the story altogether. That was the emergency. Sadly, though predictably, almost all news media retains no credibility and they’re full of poo. This is yet another reason it's important Republicans gain control of Congress. It’s clear that’s the only path for potential accountability or even coverage of the real story.
