- Gas Prices are another two cents per gallon lower statewide today. The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas is $4.32 per gallon. In Southeast Florida prices range from an average of $4.41 in Miami-Dade to $4.55 in the Palm Beaches.
- Covid cases are continuing to surge higher. After Thursday’s reporting, Florida’s weekly trend for daily cases stands at 11,535 – the highest since February 12th, as the state was on the downswing from the winter omicron surge. The current omicron variant, which results in mild symptoms for most who contract it, is largely immune to natural immunity and Covid vaccinations.
- A fourth Florida property insurer has entered liquidation this year amid the state’s property insurance crisis. Today Southern Fidelity enters receivership which will leave an additional 78,000+ Floridians seeking a new property insurer.
- Moms For Liberty, an education watchdog group which opposes the teaching of woke ideology in schools, is hosting its national summit in Tampa this weekend. Among the featured speakers are Governor DeSantis, Florida’s First Lady Casey DeSantis, Senator Rick Scott, MLK Jr.’s niece Alveda King and former HUD Secretary Dr. Ben Carson.
