- Florida’s gas prices have fallen another three cents per gallon today. The average price statewide is now $4.17 per gallon. In Southeast Florida prices range from a low of $4.28 per gallon in Miami-Dade to $4.42 in the Palm Beaches.
- COVID-19 cases may be leveling off. Totals have been essentially flat over the past month. After Wednesday’s reporting, Florida’s weekly trend for daily cases stands at 10,927. That’s slightly lower than the pace of a week ago and a few hundred per day above last month’s levels.
- In a rebuttal to Governor DeSantis’ school board endorsements, Democrat primary candidate Charlie Crist has announced he’ll be endorsing school board candidates as well. Crist announced this while announcing his education agenda which he’s coined as the “Freedom to Learn”.
- As part of what Governor DeSantis coined Florida’s “Freedom First Budget”, one-time assistance payments to certain families totaling $450 per child were authorized. The state has confirmed that approximately 59,000 eligible families have begun receiving letters in the mail indicating they’ll be receiving the payments. Eligible families include: foster parents, caregivers, those receiving TANF assistance and those eligible for guardianship assistance.
