Today’s entry: Good morning, Brian... I was listening on the way to work this morning as you were discussing Gov. DeSantis and the illegal migrants being sent to Martha's Vineyard. I do expect some negative comments from Charlie "Christ", as to the illegality of this move. Have the liberals forgotten that Joe Biden sent migrants to Westchester County in the middle of the night by plane? As usual, it is okay if the liberals do it but always wrong if the Conservatives do the same thing.

Also, can you discuss a news report on Fox news that discusses Kamala Harris and the plan to give amnesty and voting rights to millions of undocumented migrants? It was on Fox's webpage this morning.

Keep up the great work!

Bottom Line: Thanks, yeah, this one, DeSantis’ shipping of illegals to Martha’ Vineyard, definitely struck a nerve with many on the left. I’ve heard from many listeners as this topic of late as well. Including a few folks who were wondering prior to the news of this hitting Wednesday whether Governor DeSantis had yet sent any illegal immigrants to Delaware which was his original promise. Let’s start at the top with what’s happened with Florida’s relocation program and how we got here. It all started last November 10th when Governor DeSantis first brought to light that illegal immigrants were being flown and bused into Florida, without any notice to any state or local authorities. Which to your general point of hypocrisy is one of the complaints by the locals in Martha’s Vineyard – that they didn’t have any advance notice. In the presser where he announced this, he was pressed by a reporter on the issue, and it was then that the governor first stated in response to illegals being flown and bused into Florida by the Biden administration... “My view would be, if they’re going to come here, we’ll provide buses. I’ll send them to Delaware”. And thus, the concept was born. Notably this was prior to Texas and other states busing illegals to various destinations, which has been happening in recent months. But Governor DeSantis saying we would be doing this and actually being able to do this are two entirely different things.

Like all government programs, there must be funding to carry them out. There’s obviously a cost associated with relocating illegal immigrants and Florida’s fiscal year runs from July through June – meaning DeSantis didn’t have the funds to do this last November. But what he did do is petition the state legislature for funding for this program which was granted in this years’ state legislative session. The state legislature appropriated $12 million for relocation of illegal immigrants from Florida. With the new budget year kicking in this past July, DeSantis was presented with opportunity to send illegal immigrants to Delaware, or Martha’s Vineyard as the case happened to be. It’s not yet clear what the cost of sending the two planes with approximately 50 illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard was, but it's safe to say there’s plenty of money left for numerous trips to President Biden’s backyard in Delaware. As for the latest from the VP...

Yes, last Sunday on Meet the Press Vice President Kamala Harris said this: The border is secure, but we also have a broken immigration system, in particular, over the last four years before we came in, and it needs to be fixed. We also have to put into place a law and a plan for a pathway for citizenship for the millions of people who are here and are prepared to do what is legally required to gain citizenship. Incidentally, the first part of that quip is what led to Texas Governor Greg Abbott sending a bus of illegals to Harris’ D.C. residence yesterday. But yes, the later part of that speaks to the clear political motivation of this administration and what the open border has always been about. Attempting to create a brand-new class of permanent Democrat voters. There’s no more clear indication that Democrats generally have no interest in the best interests of us, than this issue. No assimilation required. No appreciation for this country required. The first action in this country is breaking the law. And it's been proven that every illegal immigrant costs us as taxpayers $70,000. This is clearly wrong in every way and directly harms every American taxpayer. Yet the motivation is simple. Get as many illegals in here as possible. Get them on government programs. Get enough Democrats elected. Make them legal citizens. Tell them they’ll continue to get their government programs if they vote for Democrats. That’s always been the plan, Harris just admitted it. Elected Democrats who don’t publicly oppose this border madness care about power and their agenda more than they care about you. Period. There’s no issue which illustrates it as clearly as this one. So yeah, that’s the rest of the story.
