- Florida was tied with the highest foreclosure rate in the country to end the year according to the latest report from ATTOM Data Solutions – though Florida’s foreclosure rate continued to decline. According to the latest data one in 3,739 homes is currently in some stage of the foreclosure process – tied with New Jersey for the highest rate in the country. However overall foreclosure activity statewide declined by nearly 6% in December.
- Florida has a new property insurance option as the market continues to recover from a muti-year crisis brought on by high levels of claims and onerous litigation. Florida’s Office of Insurance Regulation has approved Florida-based Mangrove Property Insurance to begin underwriting policies later this year.
- The Boca Raton Airport held a grand opening Tuesday for its new 360-degree observation area for guests to be able to see aviation operations onsite. It's the first-of-its-kind observation deck in the area and provides enhanced seating, shade and includes a live air traffic control tower radio feed.
- After starting in the 50’s we’ll have cloudy skies and highs in the mid 70’s - a little warmer than usual for this date. Warmer weather is on its way for the rest of the week.
- Gas prices dropped another two cents per gallon on Tuesday. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $3.16 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.29 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.19 and in Indian River County the average is $3.17 per gallon.
