- Governor DeSantis will veto the Immigration bill passed by the legislature in the special session they called after abruptly ending the governor’s session this week. During a Wednesday roundtable with law enforcement and residents DeSantis said: The bill the Florida Legislature passed last night fails to honor our promises to voters, fails to meet the moment, and would actually weaken state immigration enforcement. DeSantis is sticking by his original proposals and calling for them to be passed in the state’s upcoming legislative session.
- Rivera Beach officials are advising people to stay out of the water at Singer Island today after high levels of bacteria were found in the water. The Florida Department of Health Palm Beach County will conduct another test with results to be released within the next two days.
- North Palm Beach Police Chief Richard Jenkins announced his retirement that will take effect on Saturday. Jenkins has been the police chief for 12 years, with 29 total years with the North Palm Beach PD amid a 46-year law enforcement career. Deputy Chief Rob Coliskey will serve as interim chief.
- Sprouts Farmer’s Market has announced the opening date for its new location in Boynton Beach. The store located at the intersection of North Congress Ave. And Gateway Blvd. Will open April 4th. Sprouts currently operates 47 locations statewide with five additional stores, including the Boynton Beach location set to open in the coming months.
- After starting in the 50’s we’ll have sunny skies and highs in the mid to upper 70’s - a little warmer than usual for this date. Warmer weather is on its way to close out the week.
- Gas prices dropped another three cents per gallon on Wednesday. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $3.13 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.26 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.08 and in Indian River County the average is $3.13 per gallon.
