Today’s entry: Could you give us the skinny on Arctic Frost?
Bottom Line: "Arctic Frost." It's not some new Ben & Jerry's flavor (although it does feature Marxist activities) or a polar bear's bad day. No, this is the codename for the Biden-era FBI's ice-cold witch hunt that morphed into Special Counsel Jack Smith's crown jewel of political persecution: the so-called investigation into efforts to "subvert" the 2020 election.
Much like the name of the operation implies, this Biden era-spying scandal under the false pretense of “January 6th, “threat to democracy” was chilling, and ironically, itself the actual “threat to democracy”. As I recently summarized... Special Counsel (Criminal) Jack Smith’s chilling use of his broad prosecutorial powers led to his team issuing 197 subpoenas to 34 individuals and 163 businesses, targeting records and communications related to at least 430 named Republicans and entities effectively creating what Chuck Grassley’s Senate Judiciary committee has identified as “an enemies list”. They went after GOP members of Congress subpoenaing their phone records and spying on them and then anyone any of their targets had contact with via the records; they were able to obtain using post - 9-11 Patriot Act justifications to do it. That’s the first place to pause at the onset for understanding what the Biden administration equated the January 6th riot to – 9/11.
The corrupt Biden administration effectively treated the targets, starting with President Trump, as though they were Al Qaeda from a point of spying and surveillance. They went after Trump’s White House Advisors and officials; they tracked Trump’s attorneys, big donors, fundraising entities and business leaders too. The Arctic Chill was directly approved by former Team Autopen AG Merrick Garland and Deputy AG Lisa Monaco and signed off on by D.C. federal Judge Boasberg, who not only green-lighted the subpoenas against targets, but also issued a gag order, to silence companies and individuals involved – likely never expecting this conspiracy to come to the light of day. Let’s dive into some of the inner workings of this...
Picture this: Back in early 2022, under FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland, the feds launch "Arctic Frost" as a probe into alternate elector slates pushed by Team Trump after the 2020 mess. Sounds narrow, right? Wrong. This thing ballooned into a dragnet so wide it makes the IRS's old Lois Lerner playbook look like child’s play.
As mentioned, Jack Smith and his crew fired off 197 subpoenas targeting over 400 Republican entities and individuals. We're talking about cell phone, toll records, media strategies, grassroots fundraising data—you name it. Turning Point USA? Subpoenaed. Republican Attorneys General Association? Hit. Save America PAC? In the crosshairs. Even state GOP parties got the treatment. As Florida’s Attorney General James Uthmeier told me last week – he was even caught up in this – and that’s long before he was AG. And get this – which illustrates the level of corruption involved in Special Criminal Jack Smith’s investigation: One subpoena went to a nonprofit that didn't even exist on January 6, 2021. America First Legal, founded months later, still got dragged in. If that's not a fishing expedition, I don't know what is.
But wait, it gets frostier. Documents show the Biden FBI spied on the cell phones of eight GOP senators—eight!—including Florida Senator Rick Scott and heavy hitters like Lindsey Graham, Marsha Blackburn, Ron Johnson, and Ted Cruz. Grassley called it out loud and clear: "This was the vehicle by which partisan FBI agents and DOJ prosecutors could improperly investigate the entire Republican political apparatus." Cruz himself fumed on the Hill, labeling it "Joe Biden’s Watergate"—an "absolute and egregious abuse of power." And Trump's not mincing words either, blasting Smith as a "real sleazebag" on Truth Social. Hell, MAGA influencers are calling for Smith's arrest, and five GOP lawmakers want him disbarred, urging AG Pam Bondi to refer him to the DOJ's ethics cops. Why? Because this wasn't about uncovering crimes; it was about mapping the conservative ecosystem to kneecap Trump's 2024 run.
We've been talking of the weaponized deep state for the better part of a decade, dating back to February 2nd of 2018 when I broke the details of the Trump Russia-Collusion hoax on Mark Levin’s show. Arctic Frost is exhibit A: a precursor to Smith's August 2023 indictment of Trump on election interference charges, which got tossed last year. It started as an "election conspiracy" probe and ended up as a blueprint for the next Watergate. Radical judges like James Boasberg greenlit this nonsense, equipping the DOJ to spy on political foes. Legal eagles are buzzing about next steps—impeachments, firings, even prosecutions for those Arctic Frost architects. And rightly so. This isn't just sloppy; it's sinister, a betrayal of the badge that erodes trust in our institutions faster than inflation eats your grocery bill.
Arctic Frost proves the swamp doesn't drain itself—it fights back with subpoenas and surveillance. Jack Smith? He was the icicle at the tip of the spear, but the whole Biden-DOJ glacier was complicit.
