Trump 2.0... 1 Year Later & Taking Nothing for Granted - Top 3 Takeaways

Trump 2.0... 1 Year Later & Taking Nothing for Granted - Top 3 Takeaways January 21st, 2026

Takeaway #1: Take nothing for granted

Right about now, of the things that are outside of your home, and outside of your control, what’s your biggest concern? If you’re Joel Malkin, it’s the new head coach of the Miami Dolphins (he’s very unsure of that hire). For you, it might be something to do with the impact of your portfolio wondering if we’re on the brink of a Liberation Day 2.0 styled selloff following yesterday’s action in the financial markets. If you're in Minneapolis, your concerns are likely to be considerably more – seeing as the state and local governments are not only incompetent but seemingly are corrupt and openly support obstruction of justice, anarchy in their streets and in their churches. Or in Virginia where your state went from being governed by one of the best in the country to a state that on day one of the Democrat takeover of the state the governor ended all corporation with ICE on illegal immigration and effectively declared the state to be a sanctuary state...while the Democrat controlled legislature rolled out an agenda to cut criminal sentencing penalties and guarantee illegal immigrants receive state benefits and education, banning hand recounts of ballots (because of course Democrats want every illegal immigrant vote to count)...among other things. The point is this, and it’s likely a leading reason that you’re in the Free State of Florida right now...(unless you’re not in which case...come on down and bask in the freedom and sanity), where you live matters because who governs matters. Multiple generations of Americans who’d never experienced a president as poor at the job as Jimmy Carter learned that the hard way with Dementia Joe and Team Auto Pen. When you’re governed poorly, the impact is tangible and troubling in everyday life. When you’re governed well, you have time to worry about whether we’re going to have a trade war with Europe over Greenland. It’s important to take nothing for granted. Over the weekend my wonderful and talented wife Ashley asked me how long we’re ok and how concerned I am about the future generally. I told her that we’re good for three years. That’s because we live in the Free State of Florida and we have Donald Trump as President of the United States...however...

Takeaway #2: Take nothing for granted

It wasn’t all that long ago when Broward and Palm Beach County had supervisors of elections who did their best to attempt to steal elections through unlawful vote tabulations (which actually did happen in 2018’s Agriculture Commissioner Race - Matt Caldwell held the lead over Nikki Fried the last time a legal vote was tabulated in that race) and we were within 43,000 votes statewide of having Tallahassee's favorite bisexual criminal Andrew Gillum as governor. The fact is through the primary process in August and the general election in November we’ll be deciding whether Florida will look like Virginia suddenly does as it’s gone from a top gov to an illegal immigration depot. It’s imperative that we choose wisely in the primary and vote right in November. President Trump can do much, but as we’ve seen across the country, he can’t save states and cities bent on high taxes, soft on crime policies, and prioritizing illegal immigrants over citizens from doing so and destroying themselves. But with that said one year in the Trump administration did produce...

Takeaway #3: 365 wins

As in literally the Trump administration produced a fact sheet with 365 wins in Trump 2.0’s first 365 days. The wins read much the way that I presented to you in my first Top 3 Takeaways for 2026 when I talked of how our country is set for up unpresented success due to Trump’s big year 1 wins. As team Trump outlined...Achieved negative net migration in 2025, reversing a 50-year trend and restoring U.S. control over immigration flows for the first time in a generation. Removed more than 2.6 million illegal aliens from the United States through deportations and voluntary self-departures. Permanently ended dangerous “catch-and-release” policies nationwide. Immediately resumed construction of the border wall — with dozens of miles of new construction underway or already completed. Revoked over 100,000 visas tied to fraud, criminal activity, or national security concerns. Terminated federal benefits for at least 1.4 million illegal aliens improperly receiving public assistance. Removed 275,000 illegal aliens from Social Security rolls. Delivered the largest one-year decline in homicides in U.S. history. Reversed the nationwide violent crime surge, driving nationwide drops in rapes, robberies, and aggravated assaults by 6%, 19%, and 10%, respectively. Cut overdose deaths by 21% over last year (over 30% in Florida). Drove gas prices to their lowest level in nearly five years. Ensured 100% of net job growth went to native-born Americans by enforcing immigration laws. Achieved massive economic growth, with real GDP rising 4.3% in the third quarter of 2025. Increased private-sector real earnings by $1,100 annually — earning back some of the $2,900 in purchasing power workers lost under Biden. Tamed inflation, running at just 2.4% since President Trump took office — down 70% from its Biden-era peak. Achieved the lowest mortgage rates in three years. Delivered on his No Tax on Tips, No Tax on Overtime and No Tax on Social Security promise. Delivered a 4% nominal private sector weekly wage increase. Ended the Israel–Hamas war (and brokered peace with 16 other countries...) Destroyed Iran’s nuclear weapons capability through coordinated military action, sanctions escalation, and intelligence operations. Secured an agreement from NATO member nations to raise their defense spending to 5% of their GDP. Secured the capture of long-wanted narcoterrorist Nicolás Maduro, paving the way for his prosecution in the U.S. Claimed Greenland for the U.S. (kidding – of)...and about 350 more... So, are you tired of winning yet? We’ve got three great years with Trump left but we can never take winning or any election for any office at any level for granted.
