- Florida Attorney General James Uthemeier issued a letter of notice to the nearly 80 corporations that are associated with the U.S. Plastics Pact, the Consumer Goods Forum, or the Sustainable Packaging Coalition for their involvement in practices that potentially violate antitrust and consumer protection laws. As stated by Uthemeier: Multiple advocacy organizations have pressured companies into artificially changing the output and quality of their goods and services in way that normal market forces would not otherwise bring about. These groups were warned that their activity presents serious conflicts with antitrust and consumer protection laws, and advocacy for a particular agenda is not a basis to mislead consumers.
- Palm Beach Police provided an update of enforcement against illegally moored boats in the Lake Worth Lagoon along the Intracoastal on Tuesday. The enforcement efforts, which were announced last year, have led to approximately 40 boats have been voluntarily moved out of the area, with ten that have been removed by PB Police. Under state law moorings require legal permitting while anchored vessels may not remain in one place for longer than 30 days.
- Spring Training activity is underway today at Roger Dean Stadium with the Miami Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals pitchers and catchers reporting.
- The KDVA Florida Chapter is holding a free meet and greet event at Mission BBQ at Saint Lucie West, in Port St. Lucie this upcoming Monday, President’s Day from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. The event is free and open to all veterans and their families. RSVP at KDVA.vet
- Pleasant seasonal weather today. After starting in the 50’s, the high will reach the mid to upper 70's. Similar and slightly warmer weather is expected for the rest of the week.
- Gas prices rose another three cents per gallon on Tuesday. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $2.94 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.08 per gallon, in Martin the average is $2.96, it’s $2.97 in St. Lucie, and in Indian River County the average is $2.96 per gallon.
