The Most Important Election You Weren’t Aware Of & Iran Receipts

The Most Important Election You Weren’t Aware Of & Iran Receipts - March 5th, 2026

Takeaway #1: The state of the Democrat Party

In your view what is the state of the Democrat Party? For most people, it’s not good. In fact, Democrats continue to maintain record low favorability with only 36% Americans who’ve been looking at the donkey and thinking man – give me some more of that sweet Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries political action. In an average of all accredited polls Democrats have a net negative 20% rating – six points worse than the elephants most Americans also don’t approve of across the aisle. Now, in my view the reason why Democrat favorability has reached record lows, even while President Trump’s approval and that of the GOP generally is also underwater, is due to how radically far left the party has positioned itself. Democrats lost in 2024 largely because of high inflation, open borders and high crime. Three issues that incidentally are all connected to the same one. Open borders were a key contributor to the 40+ year high ‘Bidenflation - as millions of illegal aliens were placed in affordable housing which created substantially more demand than inventory available leading to housing becoming more unaffordable for everyone else. Ditto, the huge increase in demand for products and services due to the rapid influx of illegal aliens in society, contributed significantly to the higher inflation rate. And as for crime, as I’ve extensively covered, so many “Bad Hombres” made their way into the United States due to Biden’s open border that by the end of the Biden administration a quarter of all crimes committed in this country came courtesy of the Magic “A” word warm and fluffies. So Trump wins, deportations begin, the rate of inflation comes down (even despite the impact of his tariffs), housing affordability begins to improve, crime drops double digits and so what is it that Democrats decided to do? Oppose it. And on the surface, it would seem like a crazy thing. Who wants higher prices? Who wants higher crime? But what we’ve seen is that in reality it may not be the case that it’s Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries setting their agenda and making the case to their base. It increasingly appears to be the case that elected Democrats are reacting to their base. The reason I’ve focused on this with my takeaways today is due to what I believe is...

Takeaway #2: The single most instructive primary election that took place on Tuesday

It’s not a race anyone had focused on at the national level. It was a North Carolina state legislative race. Carla Cunningham, a seven-term Democrat representing North Carolina’s 106th District, which includes Charlotte, was waxed in her primary. You might think...ok, so outside of that district who really cares? I think everyone who cares about the future of this country should and here’s why. Prior to last year, Carla was overwhelmingly popular in her district. Just a year and a half ago she won her general election unopposed, and she won the Democrat primary that cycle with 85% of the vote. What happened to Carla on Tuesday? She lost the Democrat primary receiving only 22% of the vote! So how could such a well-established and popular candidate suddenly lose 63% of her base? Carla Cunningham was the only Democrat in North Carolina who voted with Republicans in the state to require local police cooperation with ICE. As she said at the time of her vote: All cultures are not equal. Some immigrants come and believe they can function in isolation. I suggest they must assimilate. Adapt to the country they want to live in. On Tuesday night, with the election results in North Carolina’s Democratic Party Chairman Anderson Clayton said thisWe look forward to having someone in Raleigh who truly represents the people. Once again, we’re talking about a seven-term Democrat who won landslide victories in every election until Tuesday. But simply siding with enforcing lawful immigration policy caused her to lose over 60% of her base and the Chair of the state’s Democrat Party effectively saying you can’t be a Democrat if you believe in enforcing immigration law. So yeah, this was a state race in North Carolina, however more broadly, this is now the state of the Democrat Party. Biden’s open border and anti-Border Patrol and Ice policies haven’t been abandoned by Democrat voters; they’ve become a litmus test for them. And what that means is that when you hear regular absurdities by Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jefferies and company – it appears to be the case that they’re actually in line with their base.

Takeaway #3: Iran War Receipts

As for where we stand as we’ve entered day six of the Iranian war. Here are the receipts for what’s been achieved by the joint U.S. and Israeli mission known as Operation Epic Fury: 2,600 targets struck in Iran, 49 senior leaders killed – and Iran’s ballistic missile inventory having dropped from approximately 3,000 to 2,000 – with 567 having been fired by Iran and the balanced having been taken out on the ground. In total Iran had launched 2,107 total attacks with only 28 that made it through allied defenses. So, what does this mean? It means that all of Iran’s top-level officials are believed to be dead – at last word the former Ayatollah’s son is still the alleged front runner to take over. It means that only about one percent of Iran’s attacks have breached allied defenses. It means that a third of Iran’s total missile inventory is gone. In other words, what this means is that the capacity for Iran to even keep going at this pace, all other factors remaining equal, appears to be no more than about eight more days. What happens at that point remains to be seen, however, what this illustrates is the frenetic pace of the war and that progress has come quickly to this point. As the Left continues talk of a “forever war”, without China or Russia or anyone coming to Iran’s aid, what you’re seeing take place will necessarily play itself out in a matter of days.
