- Today is Election Day for 19 municipalities in Palm Beach County. Polls are open from 7 am to 7 pm, and you’ll need to vote at your assigned voting location.
- Among many bills passing the Florida legislature on Monday...the Sexual Offenses bill which increases penalties for child sexual predators. The legislation includes those in possession of child pornography. The legislature also passed the Drowning Prevention bill which expands the state’s voucher program for swimming lessons for young children up to the age of seven. The Domestic Violence and Protective Injuctions bill also has passed to Governor DeSantis. The legislation increases penalties for repeat domestic violence offenders, including animal abusers.
- JetBlue requested a ground stop for all of its flights early Tuesday morning, due to a “system outage”. However, the issue was quickly resolved, and the stop order was lifted after approximately 40 minutes. All flights out of and into Palm Beach International Airport today are unimpacted.
- It’ll be another sunny, warm and beautiful day with highs reaching the low 80’s throughout the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast. We can expect similar weather for the next few days.
- Gas prices rose 14 cents per gallon on Monday, however we may be the end of the cycle of increases. Wholesale oil prices which spiked to nearly $120 a barrel – early Monday morning have reversed significantly – trading at $86 most recently. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $3.63 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.74 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.69, it’s $3.64 in St. Lucie, and in Indian River County the average is $3.63 per gallon.
