  • Palm Beach International Airport will be renamed Donald J. Trump International Airport three months from now as the state’s new fiscal year takes effect. Governor DeSantis signed the bill into law allowing for the renaming of PBIA, by designating that the state, as opposed to local officials, had the ability to name the airport. The airport code will also change from PBI to DJT.
  • West Palm Beach will soon begin a significant expansion project for the Norton Museum of Art following approval by the city commission. The plan calls for a new three-story parking garage with 200 additional parking spaces, a new visitor center and valet and school bus zones.
  • Boca Raton’s new Mayor Andy Thompson will be sworn into office today.
  • Amid the continued partial government shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security, wait times improved at Palm Beach International Airport on Monday. The average time to clear through security at PBI averaged fewer than 15 minutes on Monday, about half of the typical weekend wait times. President Trump signed an executive order to pay TSA agents with many agents receiving paychecks on Monday. 
  • It’ll be gusty along the coast and mostly sunny today with a high in the upper 70’s throughout the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast – which is a bit cooler than usual for this date. We can expect similar weather tomorrow into tomorrow, with rain chances rising on Thursday
  • Gas prices rose significantly on Monday to reach fresh 3.5-year highs with the average price for regular unleaded currently at $4.12 per gallon - 17 cents higher than yesterday. In Palm Beach County the average price is $4.27 per gallon, in Martin the average is $4.18, it’s $4.11 in St. Lucie, and in Indian River County the average is $4.12 per gallon.
