- Democrat Gubernatorial candidate, Kevin Cichowski, was arrested for battery against his elderly parents. The 46-year-old candidate is alleged to have used a cane and cellphone to attack his parents while also having been in possession of a gun. His parents also stated that Kevin threatened to kill him.
- Kirsten Rose, a Brevard County math teacher at Cocoa Beach Jr/Sr High School, has been arrested and charged with five counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor. Authorities were tipped off by the victim's parents who were concerned about their son’s changing behavior.
- An armed robbery attempt of a Walgreens in Riviera Beach was thwarted by pharmacy employees who quickly locked themselves behind a secure window and contacted police while stalling the suspect. Convicted felon Christopher Lane had his hand on a gun on the counter when police arrived.
- It’ll be sunny and gusty to start the week with highs near 80 throughout the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast – which is typical for this date. Similar weather is expected throughout the week.
- The price of gas continued to trend lower through the weekend and is 18 cents per gallon lower than a week ago at $4.02 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $4.16 per gallon, in Martin the average is $4.00, it’s $4.03 in St. Lucie, and in Indian River County the average is $4.05 per gallon.
