Results & Reality - The Great Disconnect – Top 3 Takeaways – April 17th, 2026

Takeaway #1: They are about playing the long game...

Yesterday, during the show, we were able to bring you breaking news regarding the details of negotiations between the Pakistani mediator, whom President Trump referred to as “fantastic” earlier this week, and Iran. The news was this... That talks early on Thursday produced potential movement over the central issue as it pertains to Iran. Nukes or no nukes...? Or most specifically whether Iran will be allowed to continue to enrich uranium or not. Iranian insistence on the continuation of their uranium enrichment program was the preeminent reason President Trump started the Iranian war, and it was the central issue that ended peace talks last week. But as Fox’s Jonathan Savage told us yesterday – the Iranian ideologues that believe in the 12th Imam (that’s my characterization, not his) – aren’t willing to end their nuclear development program, however they may be willing to delay it. As Jonathan stated – the Trump administration is said to have offered a 20-year delay in the resumption of Iran’s nuclear program, while Iran is said to have countered with potentially waiting for 3-5 years. That reporting sounds entirely plausible because well Imam believers have been waiting for about 1,400 years for their well Imam to return – and as the Mullahs in Iran have proven over the past 47 years – they are inclined to play the long game too. They’ve historically made incremental progress towards nuclear capabilities while taking advantage of weak U.S. leaders, like Presidents Obama and Biden. It sounds like the Iranians may be making a political calculation that following Trump they’ll be dealing with someone like The Hair, Gavin Newsom. It remains to see if these talks amount to anything – but it is interesting to hear that a negotiated delay in nuclear activities may well be the current state-of-play. That would indicate a significant compromise by both sides if true.

Takeaway #2: Abraham Accords Part 2?

Yesterday a ten-day cease fire between Israel and Hezbollah was agreed to that could prove to be huge for multiple reasons. First, it could prove to be the key to a potential peace deal with Iran as they’d been ticked off that their largest terror proxy in the region hadn’t been included in the ceasefire. While we wait and watch what comes for what comes next with the clock ticking...the other move that may now be in play would be historic in another remarkable way. President Trump’s most impressive diplomatic work during his first term involved the establishment of the Abraham Accords. The series of agreements between historical enemies – Muslim majority countries ruled by Islamic authority and Israel. The series of historic agreements led to this declaration: We, the undersigned, recognize the importance of maintaining and strengthening peace in the Middle East and around the world based on mutual understanding and coexistence, as well as respect for human dignity and freedom, including religious freedom. We encourage efforts to promote interfaith and intercultural dialogue to advance a culture of peace among the three Abrahamic religions and all humanity. We believe that the best way to address challenges is through cooperation and dialogue and that developing friendly relations among States advances the interests of lasting peace in the Middle East and around the world. We seek tolerance and respect for every person in order to make this world a place where all can enjoy a life of dignity and hope, no matter their race, faith or ethnicity. We support science, art, medicine, and commerce to inspire humankind, maximize human potential and bring nations closer together. We seek to end radicalization and conflict to provide all children a better future. We pursue a vision of peace, security, and prosperity in the Middle East and around the world. In this spirit, we warmly welcome and are encouraged by the progress already made in establishing diplomatic relations between Israel and its neighbors in the region under the principles of the Abraham Accords. We are encouraged by the ongoing efforts to consolidate and expand such friendly relations based on shared interests and a shared commitment to a better future. In total five Islamic countries signed onto the accord with the U.S. and Israel: the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco, Kazakhstan and Sudan – with two more Saudi Arabia and Syria who were close to joining the accords by the end of the Trump administration. But yesterday there was a sign history might be made again with Lebanon potentially signing onto the Accords. Right about now much of the TDS-riddled world views President Trump as a war monger...something he’s never been. If this one comes together President Trump will in fact be one of the world’s all-time greatest peace makers.

Takeaway #3: He's saving thousands of lives a year because he has a secure border.

Those were the words of Border Czar Tom Homan who entered the recent papal debate by saying this in reference to the Vatican: I wish they’d stay out of immigration, they don’t know what they’re talking about. If they wore my shoes for 40 years, and talked to a 9-year-old girl that got raped multiple times, or stood in the back of a tractor trailer with 19 dead aliens at my feet, including a 5-year-old boy that baked to death, if they understood the atrocities that happened on the open border, I think their opinion would change. Where President Trump had the most secure border in the lifetime of this nation, right now, lives are being saved. I welcome discussion with any of them, because they don't understand illegal immigration is not a victimless crime.
