- The state legislature passed Governor DeSantis’ proposed congressional map on a party-line vote on Wednesday. The map shifts four districts that currently held by Democrats into more favorable geographies based upon recent election and voter registration trends. Four senate Republicans joined all Democrats in opposing the map in the senate.
- The proposed Indiantown AI data center proposal is the latest in the area to be pulled by developers in advance of tonight’s council meeting. Silver Fox 606, the Juno Beach-based entity behind the proposal, sent a letter to village officials withdrawing its proposal amid community backlash. Recently a proposal in Okeechobee was pulled as well.
- West Palm Beach residents in the Green Terrace condo building are facing foreclosure as the building’s association has failed to pay a $1.4 million water bill to the city. City officials say that they’ll not stop water service to the building, but that they will move forward with the foreclosure with the intent to auction off the building to repay the debt which has been a point of contention with unpaid water bills in recent years.
- Today will be hot and dry with highs near 90 – much warmer than usual for this date. Unseasonably warm temperatures will remain in place through Saturday with showers and cooler temps expected on Sunday.
- Gas prices rose another one cent per gallon on Tuesday to $4.16 per gallon statewide. In Palm Beach County the average price is $4.33 per gallon, in Martin the average is $4.18, it’s $4.19 in St. Lucie, and in Indian River County the average is $4.18 per gallon.
