We're focusing on the race for Palm Beach County Clerk and Comptroller in this entry.
While many may think of this position in regards to running the courts, Incumbent Clerk and Comptroller Joe Abruzzo says it's actually a much larger responsibility.
"We have over a thousand different statuatory duties, the most of any constitutional office. And we actually have the second largest office for constitutionals in the entire county, right after the Sheriff's department."
The Democrat says among other things, the office acts as treasurer for the county, managing billions of dollars in taxpayer money.
Abruzzo served in the state Legislature for a decade before being elected to his position four years ago.
"We're clicking on all cylinders. We're doing so well for the county. And we're providing essential services. There's no learning on the job."
We could not reach Republican candidate Samuel Thompson to schedule an interview.
