More Coronavirus Closings and Cancellations Around Tampa Bay

TAMPA -- The list of events and venues shut down because of coronavirus continues to grow.

The Sarasota County Fair has been cancelled, according to the Sarasota Sheriff's Office.

The 2020 Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival on Clearwater Beach has been cancelled. It would have taken place April 10th through 26th. Organizers will contact ticket buyers about refunds.

The Straz Center in Tampa says it is suspending all events through April 19th. It plans to reschedule as many as possible.

Hillsborough County Government is cancelling all events and meetings for 30 days, between March 13th and April 13th. That includes all events at public libraries, and parks and recreation sites. Libraries and parks themselves will remain open. Hillsborough County senior centers will be closed, but the county is stepping up in-home meal services.

The Sarasota/Manatee Metropolitan Planning Commission Bike/Ped/Trails Advisory Committee (BPTAC) meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at 2:30 PM at the MPO office, 8100 15th St E, Sarasota, will be held as planned but will also be available virtually.
