Two suspects in a jewelry store heist were arrested after a high-speed chase on the Treasure Coast.
The Martin County Sheriff's Office says the crooks caused several crashes and minor injuries after stealing $100,000 worth of jewelry from Diamonds by Terry in Port Salerno. The suspects got into a scuffle with the store owner and shots may have been fired.
They then took off in a stolen SUV, heading north into St. Lucie County, then turning around and heading south.
Martin County deputies deployed stop sticks on I-95, just two miles south of Kanner Highway. After the tires blew out, the suspects took off on foot into a marshy area but were caught soon afterward.
Sheriff William Snyder says they were also wanted in connection with burglaries in Palm Beach County and up along the Treasure Coast.
The driver has been identified as 20-year old Davon McDonald of Loxahatchee and the second suspect was identified as a 15-year old from West Palm Beach.
