Miami-Dade Superintendent Alberto Carvalho speaking out after the arrest of a 16-year-old South Miami High schooler for 8 of the 12 cyberattacks on the district's online school platform. Carvalho says the last hack was reported at 3 this morning, but they believe there may be other international hackers out there in places like China, Russia and Iraq. They don't yet know how much the hacking has to do with the k12 platform malfunction. For now, grades 6-through-12 will conduct classes on Zoom or Microsoft Teams and elementary students will log on through K12. He says they will make a decision on whether or not to continue using that platform after next Friday.
