Port Richey, Fl.(Florida News Network)- A detective from the Pasco County Sheriff's Department's Behavioral Health Intervention Team spent over three hours talking with a man who had climbed a 300 foot tall cell tower in Port Richey to ultimately to come down. Pasco Fire Rescue assisted in talking 48 year old Casey Strenger off the tower, and into the rescue ladder truck. Strenger faces several charges, including burglary and resisting arrest. He was not injured
The Pasco Sheriff Office says this video shows not only the breadth of work the Pasco Sheriff’s Office does, but the strong partnerships they have with Pasco Fire Rescue, who assisted in talking the subject off the tower. Additionally, this call shows the integral role that BHIT plays in our community. The body worn camera video below is from the BHIT detective and captures the conclusion of this incident. We share videos such as this to note that law enforcement calls for service vary greatly in range, and deputies must be prepared for any type of situation that may arise.
