As the holiday season gets underway this week, Florida's Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis is encouraging residents and business owners to join his Holiday Money Hunt.
It's an opportunity to search and see if you or your business has unclaimed property.
Florida has a total of $2 billion available.
The most common types of unclaimed property are dormant bank accounts, unclaimed insurance proceeds, stocks, dividends, uncashed checks, deposits, credit balances and refunds. Unclaimed property may also include contents from abandoned safe deposit boxes in banks.

There is over $209,000 in unclaimed property in Palm Beach County alone.
