Miami-Dade Representative Daniel Perez says the bill would change the timing of mandatory recertifications from 40 to 30 years.
Rep. Perez says the rehab would be focused on structure, not cosmetic adding a tragedy like the one that happened in Surfside must never happen again.
The House Pandemics & Public Emergencies Committee voting favorably on the bill.
