A 17-year old driver has been charged in the deaths of six people near Delray Beach in January.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says Noah Galle was driving 151 miles per hour when he struck the back of an SUV on State Road Seven near Atlantic Avenue.

Investigators say there was no sign of braking before impact.

The Nissan Rogue that he hit rolled over before stopping upside down. Five the people inside were pronounced dead at the scene and a sixth died at the hospital.

Sheriff Ric Bradshaw addressed why it took until now to get an arrest in this case.

"We can't go fast. We've only got one opportunity to get this right. If we make a mistake and these people walk, it's back on us. And it's not what the family and this community expect. They expect excellence. They expect these investigations to be perfect and that's why it takes some time."

He says there is a lot of investigation that takes place, including the toxicology report which came back clean on Galle.

The teen is being held at the Juvenile Detention Center.
