Chief Mary O' Connor: Children and Guns "A Bad Mix"

Tampa's police chief is speaking out after two recent shooting incidents involving teenagers, one of whom was killed last night at a McDonald's on North Armenia. Mary O' Connor says in the first case, a 16-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder after he shot a teenage girl in the back near Robinson High School. "This 16-year-old boy's life is forever changed because he made a very, very bad decision. The 17-year-old victim's life is forever changed because she got shot in the back."

In the other--unrelated--case, the body of a 16-year-old boy was found in the parking lot of the restaurant. O' Connor says the victim was a suspect in a recent armed robbery, and was with a group of friends when gunshots were heard from a passing car. No arrests have been made at this point, and no word on a motive.
