MSD Public Safety Commission Meets For First Time Since Cruz Sentencing

The Majory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Commission meeting in Sunrise today for the first time since Nikolas Cruz life sentencing. Commissioners will get an update on the 9-1-1 communications between Parkland, Coral Springs and the Broward Sheriff's Office. Member Ryan Petty says more than 4 years after the Parkland massacre the agencies are still arguing over their specific roles instead of adhering to recommended protocols. He says they will not discuss the Superintendent, but he's not surprised by the removal of Dr. Vickie Cartwright since State auditors are still finding multiple violations of safety protocols when it comes to timely reporting of incidents with school resource officers.
