Memorial Day Ceremony In South Florida To Honor Our Fallen Heroes

The Department of Veterans Affairs wants to be sure you remember the reason for Memorial Day.

Monday's holiday is meant to honor those brave men and women who died fighting for our freedom.

The annual Memorial Day Commemoration Ceremony will be held at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth.

It will feature a solemn wreath laying ceremony, a speech from retired Army Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Garten who served for 34 years in multiple posts, including Special Forces Airborne assignments.

There will also be flyovers by several aircraft and patriotic music.

The event is open to the public and begins at 10 a.m.

The cemetery is located along State Road Seven, just south of Lantana Road and free parking is available in the Target Parking lot on the north side of Lantana Road, beginning at 8 a.m.

People should arrive a the cemetery by 9:30 a.m.
