A man has been arrested after allegedly threatening to shoot students at a local school.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and Palm Beach County School District Police say 22-year old Fernando Gaete is a former student at Loggers' Run Middle in Boca Raton and that he was responsible for writing the following message online: "I Dominic Valentine vow to shoot up Loggers Run Middle School on Monday morning gonna shoot 6 students."

PBSO detectives tracked the messages back to an address on Boca Ranch Drive in Boca Raton, about two miles from the school, and say the account belonged to Gaete.

The suspect admitted to making the threat, saying he did so because he was "very angry."

The school's principal reached out to parents, stating that they take "every threat seriously."

Gaete is facing one charge of written threats to kill, a felony. His bond was set at $100,000.
