Governor Ron DeSantis was among the Republican presidential hopefuls in Iowa over the weekend.

At the Faith and Freedom Coalition Banquet, DeSantis discussed abortion.

"I'm pro-life. I've been a pro-life governor. I'll be a pro-life president. Clearly, a state like Iowa has been able to move the ball with pro-life protections. Florida has been able to move the ball."

Former President Trump did not attend the event, but he took shots at the governor about the state's law limiting most abortions after six-weeks of pregnancy.

During an interview with NBC that aired yesterday, he called the law a "terrible mistake" and said "people are starting think of 15-weeks" as a limit for abortion.

Trump says he would "sit down with both sides and negotiate something."

The Florida Supreme Court heard arguments, earlier this month, on challenges to the state's 15-week abortion ban, which was approved by lawmakers a year before they passed the 6-week ban. If the high court rules in favor of the state, the six-week ban will go into effect.

Ultimately this whole situation is likely to fall at the feet of the U.S. Supreme Court.

Also attending the Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition Banquet were Republican Presidential candidates Nikki Haley, Mike Pence and Vivek Ramaswamy..
