The West Palm Beach Police Department has its hands full, investigating two separate and unrelated shootings that happened only an hour apart.

The first shooting was deadly. Officers responded to shots fired near 10th Street and Sapodilla Avenue just after 11:30 p.m. Saturday night.

Investigators say a man had been shot several times and was found lying in a crosswalk. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

While his identity was not released, police say he was recently released from the County Jail.

About fifty-five minutes later, officers responded to the area of 37th Street and Broadway, where a man was shot while attending a house party.

This one happened in a parking lot and police are looking for a vehicle that drove by and started firing. The victim was shot in the leg and was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police say he is cooperating.
