Update:
A man is dead and a woman is hospitalized after a helicopter crashed into a canal in Southwest Miami-Dade County this afternoon.
Miami-Dade Police Detective Alvaro Zabaleta says they began getting calls about the crash in the 18400 block of Southwest 122nd Street just after 1:00 p.m.
The helicopter was apparently heading from Fort Myers to Miami Executive Airport when it went down miles from the runway.

Miami-Dade Police officials say the chopper was heading from Fort Myers to the Kendall-Tamiami Executive Airport when it went down in the 18400 block of Southwest 122nd Street.
Police officials report Miami-Dade Fire Rescue paramedics are working on the pilot. The second person is being taken to the hospital.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
