The Indian River County Sheriff's Office is offering to loan out life jackets for free as part of its new "Stay Afloat Campaign."
The agency has set up stands at several boat ramps across the county where boaters can borrrow the life jackets while they're out on the water.
Those stands can be found at boat ramps in the Sebastian Inlet, Main Street Sebastian, Sebastian Yacht Club, Wabasso Causeway, MacWilliams Park, Memorial Island and Round Island.
The Sheriff's Office says the project was made possible through the donations from Walmart and Lowe's members of the agency's Community Affairs Unit, as well as members of the Marine Unit and Fleet Management.
