The Mayor of Riviera Beach says there's a chance that residents were given drinking water contaminated with feces.
City officials notified residents last month about one of the city’s wells testing positive for E. coli and fecal matter back in June of 2023, but said that the drinking water supply was safe.
Now, Mayor Ronnie Felder says it actually did seep into the water supply system.
He's launching an investigation.
The mayor says the Florida Department of Health in Palm Beach County notified him on Monday of the previous inaccurate report that had been released by the city's utility department.
