Tropical Depression In Atlantic Could Develop This Week

(Washington, DC) -- A tropical wave in the Atlantic ocean has a 50-percent chance for development into a tropical depression. The National Hurricane Center said a depression could form this week while the system is close to the northern Leeward Islands, Greater Antilles, southwestern Atlantic Ocean or southeastern Bahamas.

Storm activity is expected to pick up at the end of July and beginning of August with La Niña developing.
