Boynton Beach Police: Stand Your Ground Criteria Met In January Shooting

Boynton Beach Police say a January shooting that turned deadly meets the state's Stand Your Ground criteria.

One person was killed and five others injured in the shooting along Northeast 2nd Street on January 19th. The person who died, 31-year old Davon Wood of Fort Lauderdale, was identified as the primary aggressor.

Police add that the investigation continues.

Stand Your Ground is a state law allowing citizens to use deadly force in self defense, without a duty to retreat, if they reasonably believe it's necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm.
