Two-thousand Broward students from 45 schools participating in the ninth annual "Above the Influence Rally" today. Organizer Tom Albano says the goal is to praise kids for standing up to negative peer pressure. The event includes a battle of the bands, poetry readings and a speech from the superintendent. The district is also launching a Gold Medallion program recognizing schools for implementing high-quality prevention programs.
