Miami-Dade Hosting Water Fluoridation Roundtable

Miami-Dade's mayor holding a roundtable with dentists and other public health experts on water fluoridation after the commission votes to remove it from the county's supply. Commissioner Danielle Cohen Higgins says you can get flouride in toothpaste now, so it seems outdated and unnecessary to add it. Advocates argue the fluoride is there to help tooth decay and benefits low-income residents who may not have access to dental care. The change is expected to take effect within the next month unless the mayor vetoes it.
